MY 2017 YOU TUBE

Youtube will always have a specials place in my heart…. but not ponies and minecraft, those were mistakes which I have to live up to until my ultimate demise.

First things first, why am I still doing this?

I keep asking myself that question every time I upload a video, and I wish I could give you a simple answer; but that wouldn’t be a blog. Three years ago I uploaded a video called Its Magic, an original stick figure animation. To my knowledge, I was 16 at that time,  first time have I ever collaborated with someone who lended their voice for me to make this project; I thank Colin Treneff for that. Our online friendship has been over 7 years now, wow. I hope to meet him in person, one day. Anyways I animated put all the resources  and “Alakazam!” Here you go, 4 minutes and 17 seconds of internet content added to my stick figure  channel on youtube.

I’ll be honest with you, I am very proud of making this:

Before publishing the video to the public I added a long description (which is still there, just tweaked; grammar *cough*) telling the viewer that I am quitting Youtube.  There were many reasons (I’m not going to get into details with that, maybe for another blog) why I decided to announce my “early Youtube retirement.” Foolishly enough, I never kept my word. The next month I upload another video, Stick Figures with Ponies to be exact. Surprised my subscribers (in a good way) and disappointed the haters (in a good way).

Journey to Redemption…ish

I continued  making videos, each of them getting shorter, getting worse and being unoriginal. I remember why I continued making stick figure animations, it was the only thing I know how to make. Repeating the same stuff over and over again not only tires the viewers but setting myself in creative block.

I was stuck, I wanted to make something, but all I ended up was staring at my screen the whole time. Knowing I could make something similar to It’s Magic, but wanted to make it look very professional. A full cast of voice actors/actresses, no images from google image, and no references from anything; a bona fide content from yours truly, but that never happen. Until I joined HyunsDojo, a breeding ground for all stick figure content, once I joined I was motivated me to get into RHG.

I wanted to make something cool, something badass, to a pointed I started fresh and move my 2D Stykz animations to 3D Cinema4D animations.

After creating this, I received positive feedback from my viewers. I was intrigued and I plan to make this series as a prime goal to work on, but then again, I promise on other series to work on as well, such as  Impractical Stick Figures, Minecraft Shorts, and Stick Figures + Ponies = ugh I cringe whenever I look back at that one.

Couldn’t upload it to youtube due to music copyright claim.

Switching Network

Another reason why I felt so down in the dumps is because of my network, now looking back to my old network they did nothing wrong to my channel just that I had high hopes and benefits to see if my channel will improve or not. The first third-party network I signed up was Fullscreen, nice people but never favor animations content for their spotlight and there wasn’t any you tubers around me who were drawing artist, all of them where vloggers or makeup artists.

So I had no choice but to postpone my work until I was able to be sign up from another third-party network. Frederator was the best choice I’ve ever made. Their community is outstanding and full creativity. My type of people, Lets hope I can focus for this and not screw up.
